Our take written by Nature Awed
The rules for Ohio's state nature preserves are written in chapter 1501:17 of the Ohio Administrative Code, and they apply to every preserve under ODNR's supervision or its designated custodian. Pick a question and the page shows the rule's own text, with its rule number and effective date.
Several answers carry exceptions written into the rule itself: service animals and parking lots in the pet rule, written permission from the division chief in the drone and boating rules, and designated areas in the fishing and hunting rule. The division can also post special orders at a preserve.
Our summary of the rules quoted on this page.
Where the rules apply
